Comparative Analysis of GRAS Genes in Six Cucurbitaceae Species Provides Insights into Their Evolution and Function

چکیده

The Cucurbitaceae family comprises economically valuable vegetables such as cucumber, melon, and pumpkin. GRAS proteins, which are crucial transcription factors, play diverse roles in plant growth development. However, comparative investigations of proteins across species limited. Here, we identified 241 genes six cucurbit crops. number wax gourd, watermelon, bottle gourd ranged from 36 to 37, while the pumpkin genome contained 57 genes, possibly due a recent whole-genome duplication. We classified into 16 subfamilies species-specific motifs specific-expression patterns SCLB RAD1 subfamilies. Notably, 38 tissue-specific expressed particularly fruit-specific potentially involved fruit Additionally, predicted role regulating hypocotyl elongation under weak or dark light conditions plants. These findings enhance our understanding characteristics, evolution, potential functions crops, providing resources for genetic research well important agronomic traits.

A six-gene phylogeny provides new insights into choanoflagellate evolution.

Recent studies have shown that molecular phylogenies of the choanoflagellates (Class Choanoflagellatea) are in disagreement with their traditional taxonomy, based on morphology, and that Choanoflagellatea requires considerable taxonomic revision. Furthermore, phylogenies suggest that the morphological and ecological evolution of the group is more complex than has previously been recognized. Her...

Comparative lesion sequencing provides insights into tumor evolution.

We show that the times separating the birth of benign, invasive, and metastatic tumor cells can be determined by analysis of the mutations they have in common. When combined with prior clinical observations, these analyses suggest the following general conclusions about colorectal tumorigenesis: (i) It takes approximately 17 years for a large benign tumor to evolve into an advanced cancer but <...

Comparative genomics of yeast species: new insights into their biology

The genomes of two hemiascomycetous yeasts (Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Candida albicans) and one archiascomycete (Schizosaccharomyces pombe) have been completely sequenced and the genes have been annotated. In addition, the genomes of 13 more Hemiascomycetes have been partially sequenced. The amount of data thus obtained provides information on the evolutionary relationships between yeast spe...
